Covid-19 took the world by shock and no one expected that there will ever be such a thing as a global lockdown. Nobody predicted that humans will be forcefully locked in their homes. Nobody saw that humans will have to avoid coming close to each other for fear of being infected with the Coronavirus. The effects of the Coronavirus still lingers, we are not out of the woods yet. New variants are still being discovered daily and we sleep and wake up to the news of a newly discovered strain of Coronavirus. But as people of God, this news should not scare or bother us.
A lot of lives were lost to COVID-19. A lot of jobs, properties, and means of livelihoods were affected by the Coronavirus. We are alive today not because we were more prayerful or awesome than those who died but because of his grace on our lives and we must extend that grace to those who just recently recovered from the Coronavirus because they face a lot of discrimination due to their recent experience. People avoid them for fear of them relapsing and infecting them. It is our duty as followers of Christ to give hope to the recently recovered, to help them get back their lives on track, to counsel them and assure them that God loves them and they were not abandoned by him, we can show our love and support by praying for them and remembering them in our individual communications with God.
Pray the prayers below for those who recently recovered from COVID-19.
Being one of the more popular parables of Jesus, we all must have come across it at one point in our lives or the other. Matthew 13:25
One of the most important holidays for Christians would be the Easter holiday season. It is
a time for sober reflection and a time to build even more profound intimacy with the Lord. It’s also a holiday season where friends and family come together…
Almighty God, we know that everything is in your sovereign control. We ask that you keep this novel coronavirus from continuing to spread. Give government officials the ability to safely handle people arriving from other countries. Help people decide to stay home instead of traveling or going out needlessly. Holy Spirit, remind people to wash their hands properly. And while it may be heartbreaking, comfort families as they decide to keep their distance from the elderly or other high-risk family members.
Jesus, during your ministry on Earth you showed your power and caring by healing people of all ages and stations of life from physical, mental, and spiritual ailments. Be present now to people who need your loving touch because of COVID-19. May they feel your power of healing through the care of Doctors and Nurses, take away the fear, anxiety, and feelings of isolation from people receiving treatment or under quarantine, give them a sense of purpose in pursuing health and protecting others from exposure to the disease. Protect their families and friends and bring peace to all who love them. Amen
Dear Lord, we lift to you our concern for people who just recovered from COVID-19 — the elderly and people with chronic health conditions. Protect them from relapsing and be their comfort in this time of uncertainty and, for many, preventive isolation from loved ones as they fully recover.
God of Mercy and Grace, You have called us from the east and from the west, from the south and from the north to be your body in this world. Keep us connected through you even in our physical distance. We come to you trusting that you are our refuge and our strength, our very present help in trouble. We pray for people who just recovered from COVID-19 and for the family and medical staff who surround them in care. We pray for those who are most vulnerable to this disease, whether from underlying health conditions or other contributing factors. May they rest in your peace and protection, we pray for healthcare workers and people on the front lines of this disease. For workers who are in essential roles to keep our communities going. Keep them healthy; keep them safe. We pray for everyone struggling with these rapid changes. May we be comforted by your peace and your presence, we pray for people who face hate and discrimination because of their current COVID-19 status brought on by fear and anger, may these your beloved children feel your embrace. Amen.
We echo these words of praise before you today as we declare: Bless the Lord, my soul; bless the Lord, and do not forget all of God’s benefit. We recall with thanksgiving the many times and ways in which you have come to our aid. We give thanks that in our moments of sickness and weakness, we have experienced your healing. We give thanks for hands that have ministered your healing touch to our bodies, for lips that have uttered comforting words bringing calm to our troubled minds, feet that have carried us when we were too weak to bear our own weight, communities that have supported us, renewing our faith in you and each other.
Through life’s changing scenes and seasons, we have known you to be the God who heals. We pray that you continue to heal those who just recently recovered from COVID-19. We pray that you continue to be with them and never depart from them. Help us to believe once again that in this season and at this time, you will grant your children healing. We pray this prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen
Today you have arrived at the threshold of leaving the hospital, after many days and nights of toil. You have been held in the palm of God’s hand through all the pain and suffering that you could never have imagined. Waves of gratitude break on the shore of your heart, rising from the beauty of your own life and falling into the mystery of love. The world that was once shut down opens for you again to discover. As you step out into the new ground and continue your recovery, we pray: May your body find rest and strength to heal, may your spirit lift any burdens that afflict you, may your heart find peace in the support of others, may you once again, find the path that God has called you to follow. Amen
Merciful God, hear our fervent prayer for all who suffer from the coronavirus and all those who recently recovered. May those who are infected receive the proper treatment and the comfort of your healing presence, may their caregivers, families, and neighbors be shielded from the onslaught of the virus. Give solace to those who grieve the loss of loved ones. Protect and guide those who strive to find a cure, that their work may conquer the disease and restore communities to wholeness and health. Help us to rise above fear. We ask all this in Jesus' name. Amen
I call on you right now in a special way. It is through your power that I was created. Every breath I take, every morning I wake, and every moment of every hour, I live under your power. I ask you now to touch me with that same power. For if you created me from nothing, you can certainly recreate me and make me a new being as I recover from this virus, fill me with the healing power of your spirit. Cast out anything that should not be in me. Mend what is broken. Root out any unproductive cells. Open any blocked arteries or veins and rebuild any damaged areas. Remove all inflammation and cleanse any infection. Let the warmth of your healing love pass through my body to make new any unhealthy areas so that my body will function the way you created it to function. Restore me to full health in mind and body so that I may serve you the rest of my life. Amen
We are the community of God, we must continue to show our support and pray the prayers above for healing after Covid-19. We must encourage one another, look after one another and be our brother keeper.
