Saturday is the start of the glorious weekend. For some it’s a time to put up their feet and unwind from the week’s stress, for others, it’s a time to catch up on the week’s leftover work.
Well, the norm of resting on Saturdays isn’t far from biblical. In fact, in the Scriptures, Saturdays were called Shabbat, also known as the Sabbath, a day of rest. It is regarded as the seventh day when God rested after creating for six days. There’s also Holy Saturday, the day before Easter Sunday when Jesus rose from death.
However, if you want to rest or catch up on work, morning prayers are the best way to start the day off. It doesn’t just strengthen your spirit but helps you organize your day. That way, you get more done and still have time to relax and commune with God.
Here’s a compilation of uplifting prayers you can say to start off your Saturdays and kick off your weekend.
Prayer is a devout petition to God. By prayer and supplication, we can overcome anything life may throw at us. For the wicked will try but never succeed because the Lord is always on our side.
You are anxious and terrified because your children and families are at risk, and you shoulder the responsibility for their security. What can we do to protect…
This morning, I dive into all that You have placed before me. I embrace each part of this glorious time, enjoying the service, relishing the challenges, engaging in fun, and celebrating with laughter.
On this day, may I enjoy the beauty of the created world all around me. Might I run, drive, walk and sing in the freedom of this day! Thank You that right now I can feel Your love flowing through each vein of my being, causing me to pulsate with vision and life.
On this day, I wake to live and give. May it be a worthwhile day, fill up to the brim. A day with service, laughter, work, and play, A time to run and sing. May Saturday be a day I walk in and breathe Your goodness in, and spread its beauty to those around me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
The God that does not fail. Thank You for Your protection throughout the week. Thank You for Your care and provision for me, my friends, and my household. You have been faithful to Your word that You will never disappoint the righteous.
The scriptures say, “Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things." Therefore, I return thanks to Your throne for Your loving-kindness over my life.
Lord Jesus, I have not been perfect this week. I am human and have made so many mistakes knowingly and unknowingly. Forgive me of my iniquities and hear my prayers. Your word says, “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is acceptable to him.”
Therefore, I come before You asking that You cleanse me of my sins and give me the grace not to go back to them. Thank You, Father, for Your answered prayers.
You have taken me this far all through the week. As the weekend begins this Saturday morning, Father, we pray that it will be filled with rest and refreshment. Give me also the strength to accomplish all that I planned out, including cleaning. While still having enough time to relax and spend time in Your presence.
Protect my family and me from evil. Do not let us dash our feet against stones. Provide for me this weekend. Let Your angel guard all my plans and activities. I pray for peace, happiness, and joy in my home.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Thank You for this Saturday. Thank You for seeing us through another work week and bringing us to the weekend. I pray this weekend will be a quiet time with You. Our lives can seem so overwhelming and confusing, but we know that You are there by our side always.
We know that You are doing a thousand things in our lives, even if we are only aware of a few of them. Lord, help us recognize Your Spirit. Bring us deeper into the knowledge of You, so that even in times of adversity, we can rest in the knowledge that You are with us.
Holy Spirit, please wash us with Your love. We repent of our sins, and we pray for help to do better in time. We rejoice that You are forgiving and full of such a grace that ushers us forth into freedom. Our times and our days rest in Your hands, and we know that even in anguish, You have a plan for our benefit and the glorification of the kingdom. Help us to trust You in such times and be filled with overwhelming peace.
Thank You, Lord, for this beautiful day. May we increase in You today and come into an abundance of Your presence.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thank You for granting me another day to live out Your will. I lift up this prayer to You as I start my morning with Your grace. Lord, I pray that my family and friends remember to start their morning with You as well. Please grant them the courage to face whatever trial they may encounter today.
Lend them Your strength, so that they may get through their day peacefully, no matter how challenging it might be. Please bless them with Your Holy Spirit, so that they may never forget that no matter how difficult the day ahead may seem, anything is possible with You by their side. Help me also to be a blessing to them and everyone else I come in contact with.
It’s another Saturday evening again, and You have kept me through the day. Thank You, Lord, for listening and answering my morning prayers. I am thankful to be part of the living. Despite all temptations, trials, and tribulations set in front of me, You have saved me from them.
Even the ones I don't know about, You have redeemed me from them all. Thank You for your mercies that have defended me today.
Thank You for my victory and my trials. Thank You, Lord, for the safety You granted while I was going out and coming back from my daily activities.
I cannot thank You enough for the protection of my household. You have spared them and have saved them too. Lord, I am hopeful for tomorrow, knowing it will be better.
As the day comes to an end, I return all adoration to You. I ask that tomorrow will be much better, and much more productive. May Your name be glorified forever.
